LYNN — The Lynn Parks and Recreation summer basketball league rolled on Tuesday evening at the Breed Middle School outdoor courts, with four games played across three divisions.
In the first game of the elementary-school division, Councilor Buzzy Barton squeezed out a 48-46 win over Mayor Thomas M. McGee. Davon Rucker led Councilor Buzzy Barton with 20 points, while Tyler Brown led Mayor Thomas M. McGee with 18 points.
The second game saw Lynn Housing take down Councilor Fred Hogan 48-21. Deshawn Rucker and Keith Chandler each scored 11 points to lead the way for Lynn Housing, while Misael Peña led Councilor Fred Hogan with 10 points.
The lone middle-school game of the night saw Meninno Construction notch a 37-31 win over Rick’s Auto Collision. Javihan Martinez paced Meninno Construction with 18 points, while Kameron Rucker led Rick’s Auto Collision with 19 points.
The closest game of the night was saved for last, as the high-school division matchup ended with Irvine and Sons beating Lynn Teachers Union by a score of 57-56. Joshua Anderson led Irvine and Sons with 25 points, while Marquise Echevarria scored 25 points for Lynn Teachers Union.
The Lynn Parks and Recreation summer basketball league will continue Wednesday in East Lynn.
