To the editor:
I know Biden is talking about infrastructure repair and some people are complaining about the cost. But it’s time.
Have you been on the bridge at the end of the Lynnway lately? I was on it for the first time in several months and I was scared. It is all rusted and it has broken pieces all along the sides. I heard you wouldn’t want to see its underside.
I can tell you I avoided it on my way back and took the long way home. Our overpasses don’t look very good either. Railroad tracks are breaking. Have you seen trains and buses on television from other countries? They look a lot better than ours do now.
Where is the overpass they have been talking about building for years now by Walmart on the Lynnway? If people crossing there don’t hurry before the light changes, they are doomed: No one but no one drives the speed limit on the Lynnway. Maybe we need speed limit signs people can see.
Are the workers working on the sidewalks and traffic islands downtown bored? What they are doing doesn’t make sense. They are making sidewalks bigger and the streets smaller.
It’s especially crazy near the Lynn Shelter and the Family Dollar Store. You have got to drive on the wrong side of the road to get by there.
On another subject: Get the vaccine. I know it can be scary getting a new vaccine, but it is going to get us out of the pandemic.
I am allergic to many things but I got the vaccine and I feel fine. I can see my family soon and hug them after they get the vaccine. Hopefully, this will be over soon.
