To the editor:
It’s a myth that people who stutter are not smart. The reality is that there is no link whatsoever between stuttering and intelligence.
In 1947, Malcolm Fraser, a young man in Memphis, Tenn., decided to do what he could to help others who stutter.
For more than 70 years, the Stuttering Foundation has served as a trusted resource for the stuttering community, offering brochures, e-books, podcasts, videos, a magazine, virtual learning and multiple social media channels to spread timely and accurate information about stuttering.
The history of the Foundation is the story of how one person with a significant stutter led a successful life and made a lasting difference in the lives of others with the same disability.
