“It was a slow start and it took a couple sets for them to find a rhythm and gel,” English coach Mike Haddad said. “But when seeing how they did come together in the third and fourth set gives me optimism heading forward.”
English visits Malden Wednesday (10).
BOYS SOCCER
Methuen 7, KIPP 3
The Panthers kept up with Division I Methuen for a majority of the day but fell short down the stretch.
Marco Escobar had all three goals for KIPP in the loss.
“We were missing quite a few players,” KIPP coach Jon Langlois said. “We usually have three players on the bench but two of them were hurt. It was quite the experience to play with pretty much what we’ll have in the team next year.
“The game itself was a bit chippy and there were some hard tackles but that’s what you expect when you play a Division I team.” Langlois said. “To stay tied with them at 3-3 for a while was good. It was a great game.”
KIPP travels to Methuen again Wednesday (4).
