Peabody and Saugus have joined Lynn in the red this week, the state’s designations for communities with a high risk of coronavirus spread.
Lynn, which is red for a second straight week, reported 27 new cases on Friday to bring its caseload to 16,575.
Of that total, 375 cases are active, 208 people have died, and 15,992 have recovered from the virus in Lynn, according to city data.
The city’s positive test and daily incidence rates, 5.36 percent and 34.9 new cases per 100,000 residents, both increased this week. Lynn’s positive test rate is more than twice the statewide average of 2.36 percent, according to the state Department of Public Health.
The positive test and daily incidence rates in Peabody and Saugus also increased this week to land both communities in the high risk category.
In Peabody, the positive test rate over the past 14 days is 4.28 percent, and the daily incidence rate is 28.3 new cases per 100,000 residents. In Saugus, the respective rates are 6.11 percent and 47.1 new cases, according to the DPH.
Forty-four new cases and two additional deaths have been reported in Peabody since Wednesday. The city now has 6,731 cases, 310 people have died, and 5,850 have recovered, the city’s health department said.
Numbers were not updated in Saugus, which had 3,876 cases and 67 deaths as of Thursday, according to DPH and town data.
Marblehead (1,252 cases, 31 deaths) has reported 21 new cases since last Friday, Nahant (246 cases, eight deaths) reported three new cases on Friday, and Salem (4,359 cases, 80 deaths) has reported 14 new cases and two additional deaths since Wednesday.
Numbers remained the same in Lynnfield (1,123 cases, 29 deaths) and Revere (10,171 cases, 159 deaths), and were not updated in Swampscott, which had 1,054 cases and 19 deaths as of Thursday.
