LYNN — Two Lynn Boy Scouts, Jeffrey Bucko and Nicholas Litle, have received their Eagle Scout ranks.
The two received their awards at a traditional Court of Honor held last October. Eagle is the highest rank in Boy Scouts.
To become Eagles, both Bucko and Litle completed more than the minimum of 21 merit badges, as well as planning and executing a leadership project, and sitting through an extensive board of review.
Litle’s project consisted of taking a neglected area of the healing garden at the Knights of Columbus in Lynn, and, with the help of the troop, family, and friends, took out all dead plants and overgrowth, cleaned and power-washed the walls, and cleared out overgrowth throughout the area. He also planted new bushes and new grass. Eventually the area will be used for photos, relaxation, and prayer.
Bucko’s project consisted of a refresh of the children’s play yard at Sacred Heart School in Lynn. With the help of Troop 34 scouts past and present, he cleaned up overgrowth throughout the area, re-mulched the entire playground, cleaned out and planted flowers in a flower bed. In addition to the gardening work, Bucko and his team painted a circle on the hard top for the preschool students to use the toy riding cars. The playground equipment was also washed and sanitized as well.
Bucko is the son of Richard and Andrea Bucko of Lynn, and Litle is the son of David and Liliana Litle, also of Lynn.
