PEABODY — An online seminar titled “Learn about the COVID-19 vaccine and how to get vaccinated — a virtual program” will be offered via Zoom on Wednesday from 5:30-7 p.m.
The program will be presented by the Peabody Health Department, Peabody Institute Library and Peabody Access TV.
Peabody Health Director Sharon Cameron said the seminar is an ideal opportunity for people to learn about the vaccines and the state’s phased approach to distribution in and around the Peabody area. She noted that safe and effective COVID-19 vaccines are an important tool toward helping to end the pandemic.
“We hope Peabody residents will take part in this program to learn about the COVID-19 vaccine’s efficacy and safety, how the vaccine distribution process works, and to get answers to their questions about how and why to get vaccinated,” said Cameron.
Registration is required for the seminar and may be done at: https://peabodylibrary.assabetinteractive.com/calendar/learn-about-the-covid-19-vaccine-and-how-to-get-vaccinated/.
The program will be rebroadcast on Peabody public access television for those who are unable to attend the live event.
There will be short, informational presentations by a panel of medical professionals and a question-and-answer period at the end of the program.
Seminar presenters for the panel discussion include Cameron, Chassea Robinson, R.N, a Peabody city health department nurse, and Dr. Alain Chaoui, physician for the city of Peabody who is president of Family Medicine North and a past president of the Massachusetts Medical Society. Dr. Laura Holland, co-CMO and medical director for North Shore Community Health will also participate on the panel.
“These medical experts are going to be really giving a lot of very good information on things like vaccine safety, and we will also be talking about the distribution plan in place,” said Cameron. “I think a lot of people know a lot already, but the program will be highly informative on many issues.”
