Peabody/Lynnfield girls hockey wins third straight NEHL title
NEWBURYPORT -- The Peabody/Lynnfield girls hockey team finished off its 2021 season on a high note Saturday afternoon, notching a 5-3 win over Newburyport to capture its third straight Northeastern Hockey League title. The Tanners closed the season on a 10-game winning streak, which is a new program record.
“At the end of the day, we’re just happy we were able to get out here and play this season,” said Peabody/Lynnfield coach Michelle Roach. “Our girls battled through everything they were faced with this year, including an 11-day shutdown, and came out on top. We knew what our goals were coming into the year and we all worked really hard to get there.”
