St. Mary’s boys basketball falls to Williams in triple overtime
BRAINTREE -- The No. 4 St. Mary’s boys basketball team went toe-to-toe with top-ranked Archbishop Williams Wednesday evening, and it took three overtimes before the game could be decided. Unfortunately for the Spartans, Williams hit several key shots down the stretch as St. Mary’s fell 98-91 in the semifinal round of the CCL Cup.
“It was a tough, hard-fought game that could’ve gone either way, and unfortunately we just came out on the wrong side of it,” said St. Mary’s coach Dave Brown. “Our guys battled hard the whole way, but I’ve got to tip my cap to Williams because they really made some plays down the stretch to pull it out.”
