SAUGUS — Kowloon Restaurant has announced the launch of a new social media competition in an effort to keep community members connected during the long winter months.
Called the Keeping Guests Connected campaign, owner Bobby Wong said he hopes the competition will help promote Kowloon’s brand while prompting smiles from fans of the iconic Route 1 restaurant.
“With the pandemic, it’s something you can do anywhere,” Wong said. “At home, or at work, or even if you’re on vacation.”
Guests are invited to post their best, funniest, most creative, and colorful selfies while wearing a Kowloon T-shirt or sweatshirt, or while with a Kowloon tiki cup or takeout bag, for a chance to win four V.I.P. tickets to the 2021 Kowloon outdoor Summer Concert and Car Hop Series.
The competition, which opened Monday and runs through March 8, will be judged by a select panel that includes Angela Peri, owner of Boston Casting.
“We invite everyone to post their photos on our social media platforms — keeping all photos fun and clean,” Wong said.
Fans can partake by posting a selfie on Kowloon’s Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter. Since Monday, Wong said his restaurant has already received a few submissions from customers eager to join in the fun.
“The main thing is that it’s fun, hopefully, and that it’s safe,” he said.
