To the editor:
We would like to express our deep gratitude for the extraordinary effort made by those in Nahant who are making it possible for residents age 75 and older to obtain an appointment at Lynn Tech for vaccinations against COVID-19.
Thanks to their energy, their gift of time and their ability to organize, many senior residents who might otherwise not have been able to make appointments are being given vaccinations.
All this happened in just the past week. Volunteers are manning four hotlines and helping callers navigate the online registration process. The leaders of this initiative are Tony Barletta, Nahant town administrator, and Linda Peterson, executive director of Nahant’s Council On Aging (COA).
Those who are carrying out the project are Kristin Taylor, secretary to the Board of Selectmen’s Office; Kim Koscielecki, assistant treasurer; Mary Lowe, administrative assistant; Deb Murphy, town nurse; Ann Callahan and Diane Monteith.
We plan to make a donation to the Friends of the Nahant Council On Aging to help them continue their good work. If you, too, would like to make a donation, go to http://www.nahantcouncilonaging.org/donations.shtml
