WHAT’S OPEN:
- All MBTA routes will run a Sunday schedule on Christmas day.
- Certain restaurants, including Applebees, Denny’s, IHOP and Boston Market will be open.
- Many Dunkin’ locations will be open.
- Many Starbucks locations will be open.
- Certain chain stores will be open.
- Coco Key Water Resort will be open.
- Gas stations and convenience stores will generally be open regular hours.
- CVS, Rite Aid, and Walgreens are open, though their pharmacies will be closed and their hours will vary.
WHAT’S CLOSED
- Most municipal buildings in the region, including post offices, libraries, and town halls will be closed Christmas Day.
- Supermarkets like Market Basket, BJ’s, Costco, Stop and Shop, Shaw’s, and Price Rite will be closed.
- Department stores like Kohl’s, JCPenney, Ocean State Job Lot, Target, and Walmart will be closed.
- The Northshore mall in Peabody will be closed.
- The Square One Mall will be closed.
- Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods stores will be closed.
- All Massachusetts liquor stores will be closed.
- All banks will be closed.
- The stock market is closed.
- Boston parking meters will not be in effect.
