LYNN — Police are investigating after a shooting left a 18-year-old man injured and damaged a residence and several vehicles on Jefferson Street Tuesday night.
The victim, a Lynn man, had been shot in both legs and was found in a vehicle on Eastern Avenue, Lynn Police Lt. Michael Kmiec said.
He was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Kmiec said.
Police responded to the area of East Highland Street at 11:14 p.m. on reports of multiple gunshots in the area and found a house and several vehicles damaged by gunfire on Jefferson Street, Kmiec said.
While investigating, an officer saw a vehicle fleeing on Eastern Avenue. Upon seeing police, the driver stopped, got out of the vehicle and told the officer that his friend had been shot, Kmiec said.
No arrests have been made and the victim did not provide much information about the circumstances of the shooting, Kmiec said.
“The victim was not very cooperative,” said Kmiec. “It’s still under investigation right now.”
