Lynn, Peabody, Revere and Saugus are in the red this week, which is the state’s designation for communities with a high coronavirus risk.
Cases continue to mount in those four communities, which all reported double-digit increases on Friday.
In Lynn, 54 new cases were reported on Friday to bring the city’s caseload to 6,935. Of that total, 1,056 cases are active, 129 people have died and 5,750 have recovered from the virus, according to city data.
The city’s positive test rate climbed to 9.14 percent over the past 14 days, which is the sixth highest rate in the state, according to the state Department of Public Health.
Lynn’s average daily incidence rate also increased to 61.6 new cases per 100,000 residents, according to the DPH.
Fifty-five new cases and two additional deaths have been reported in Peabody since Wednesday. The city now has 1,945 cases and 198 deaths, according to the health department.
Peabody moved into the red this week with an average daily incidence rate of 36.9 cases per 100,000 residents and a positive test rate of 4.82 percent over the past 14 days, according to the DPH.
In Revere, 13 new cases were reported on Friday to bring the city’s total numbers to 4,007 cases and 111 deaths. The city’s positive test rate of 7.26 percent is 14th highest in the state, and its daily incidence rate climbed to 56.8 cases per 100,000 residents over the past 14 days, according to city and state data.
Saugus has reported 79 new cases since last Friday to bring the town’s caseload to 1,121. Forty-five residents have died, according to the town website.
Another red community, Saugus has a daily incidence rate of 44.1 cases per 100,000 residents and a positive test rate of 5.53 percent over the past 14 days, according to the DPH.
Marblehead has reported 31 new cases since last Friday to bring the town’s total numbers to 359 cases and 30 deaths, according to the town website.
In Swampscott, 23 new cases have been reported since Monday. The town now has 244 cases and 11 people have died, according to the town website.
Another six cases were reported in Lynnfield, which now has 249 cases and 14 deaths, according to town data.
Numbers remained the same in Nahant on Friday. The town has reported 87 cases and six deaths.
