LYNNFIELD — A Lynnfield resident was struck by a motor vehicle in front of his home on Main Street near Chestnut Street shortly after 6 p.m. Tuesday.
According to unnamed sources, the man, believed to be in his 60s, was struck by a car while in the street and suffered serious injuries. Lynnfield Fire Chief Glenn Davis said the victim was transported to Lahey Clinic in Burlington by ambulance.
Shortly after the accident, in a Facebook post, Lynnfield Fire Department advised motorists to avoid traveling on Main Street, which was still closed to traffic for more than an hour after the incident occurred.
Davis said the incident is under investigation by the Lynnfield Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police.
