BOSTON — Two Lynn men were sentenced in federal court Monday on drug and firearms charges stemming from a November 2017 incident.
Both men, Carlos Lopez aka “C-Lo,” 31, and Dionis Lopez aka “Kuku,” 29, were arrested in September 2018 and sentenced to lengthy prison terms by U.S. Senior District Court Judge Douglas P. Woodlock on Monday.
Carlos Lopez was sentenced to 123 months in prison and six years of supervised release after pleading guilty to heroin and marijuana possession with intent to distribute, being a felon in possession of firearms and ammunition, and possession of firearms in furtherance of drug trafficking crimes.
Dionis Lopez was sentenced to 63 months in prison and six years of supervised release after pleading guilty to fentanyl, cocaine and marijuana possession with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number, and possession of firearms in furtherance of drug trafficking crimes.
Prosecutors said Carlos Lopez possessed and intended to distribute heroin and marijuana while he was in possession of two firearms — a Bersa, Model Thunder 380, .380 caliber pistol, and a Beretta Model Px4, 9mm pistol with various rounds of 9mm ammunition — on Nov. 14, 2017.
Due to a previous conviction for a crime punishable by more than a year in prison, Carlos Lopez was banned from having a firearm or ammunition in his possession, prosecutors said.
On the same date, prosecutors said Dionis Lopez possessed and intended to distribute fentanyl, cocaine and marijuana while in possession of a Glock, Model 27, .40 caliber pistol with an obliterated serial number and a Glock, Model 19, 9mm pistol.
