The St. Mary’s boys soccer team got back on the winning track Wednesday afternoon, catching fire on offense in a 6-0 win over Catholic Central League foe Arlington Catholic on the road.
Ryan Fraher led the way with two goals and two assists in the win, while Derek Garcia, Richie LeBrun, Jackson Nickolau and Dylan Moroney each had one goal. Moroney’s tally was his first career varsity goal. Connor Hamel had two assists, while Eduardo Toranzo and Kaya Jackson each had one assist.
Goalkeepers Jacob Guarino and Cian LeVasseur combined for the shutout in net.
St. Mary’s (3-4-1) travels to Essex Tech Friday (4).
BOYS SOCCER
Swampscott 4, Danvers 1
Fernando Barranco led the way for Swampscott with two goals, while Andrew Freger had one goal and one assist and Christian Urbano scored one goal. Alex Greenfield and Nick Sirota each had one assist, while goalkeepers Mason Bergeron (six saves) and Aidan Wyse (five saves) combined for the win in net.
Swampscott (2-3) travels to Marblehead Friday (4).
Bishop Fenwick 1, Austin Prep 0
While it was Keiron Murray who scored the winning goal on an assist from Aidan Dwyer, it was Fenwick goalkeeper Liam Foley who stole the show yet again. After making a number of big saves throughout the game — including a critical stop on a breakaway in the 80th minute — Foley locked up his fifth shutout in just eight games this season.
“Liam was without question the difference in this game,” said Fenwick coach Tony Enos.
The Crusaders (6-1-1) host Malden Catholic Saturday afternoon (2).

Swampscott 40, Danvers 32
The Big Blue notched a win on the Senior Day at Tedesco Country Club.
“It was a great way to send off the seniors (Danny DiLisio, Aidan Graciale and Nate Stern) in their last match at Tedesco,” said Swampscott coach Jason Knowles. “They all played really well out there today.”
Winners on the day for the Big Blue were DiLisio (5-4), Stern (7-2) and Lou Spellios (7-2), while Jason Bouffard and Connor Correnti both tied their matches (4.5-4.5).
Swampscott (8-2) will go after its ninth straight win Thursday afternoon (3:30) against Salem on the road at Olde Salem Greens.
Salem 36.5, Beverly 35.5
The Witches earned their second win in as many days after taking down Beverly at Olde Salem Greens.
Winners for Salem were Ethan Doyle (6-3), Bobby Jellison (6-3), Joe Parr (8-1) and Jon Wasserman (5.5-3.5).
Salem (2-5) hosts Swampscott Thursday (3:30) back at Olde Salem Greens.
Marblehead 37, Gloucester 35
The Magicians pulled out a close win on the road at Bass Rocks Golf Club.
The Magicians got wins from Ben Weed (5.5-3.5), who was also the medalist on the day after shooting 37, Jacob Aizanman (7.5-1.5), Jack Sontz (6-3) and Drake Wyman (5-4). Matt Weed and Charlie Grenier each tied their matches (4.5-4.5).
Marblehead (4-2) hosts Peabody Thursday afternoon (3) at Tedesco Country Club.
BOYS CROSS COUNTRY
Marblehead 16, Beverly 39
The Magicians took the top four spots in the victory, led by finishes from Ciro Martin-Sotos (16:34), Loeden Rodrigues (16:34), Peter Clifford (16:36) and Nate May (17:14). Ryan Thompson finished in sixth place with a time of 17:45.
Marblehead (2-0) will run against Masconomet next Saturday (12).
GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY
Beverly 16, Marblehead 46
Caroline Johnson was the top Marblehead runner, finishing in fifth place with a time of 20:54, while Claire Tips finished in 8th place with a time of 21:44.
