Lynn Woods Running capped off its 12th virtual session of the season this past Sunday and once again Lynn’s Nakri Dao and Boxford’s Michael McKie paced the pack. With four races ranging from 2.39 miles to 5.9 miles, McKie and Dao each took a short and long race respectively.
The shortest race of the day, a 2.39-mile out and back that took off and returned to the Pennybrook Road gate, was won by McKie (17:27). Swampscott’s Julie Haynes was next with a time of 20:20 while a pair of Lynners, Vickie Godbout (38:20) and Larry Godbout (38:22), rounded out the top four.
Next another out and back race, this one 3.1 miles and starting at the Great Woods pillar and making its way to the wolf pits before heading back in. Dao paced that race, finishing first with a time of 19:35 while McKie (23:00) placed second. Melrose’s Mark Rosenblum (25:39) and Peabody’s Lai-Sahn Hackett (26:29) were next followed by Lynn’s Paul Stoey (28:07), Mike Fitzgerald (29:10), Tom Fitzgerald (33:48) and Robert Conners (38:14). Melrose’s Judy Tasker and Lynn’s Amy Bowden both finished with a time of 43:51 while Lynn’s Dottie Thibodeau (50:09 rounded out the top 11.
The next Great Woods race started at the green gate and made its way to Stone Tower before looping back to total 4.81 miles. Once again Dao (33:55) finished in the top spot followed by McKie (35:49). Haynes placed third with a time of 41:20 while Rosenblum (42:48) and Stoey (43:52) rounded out the top five. Mike Fitzgerald finished with a time of 49:50 while Conners came in with a time of 1:08:59.
The fourth and longest race of the virtual session was a 5.9-mile race starting at Pennybrook and heading toward Gannon Golf course before looping back. McKie took the top spot in this one with a time of 44:16 while Haynes came in next with a time of 50:52. Lynn’s Kathryn Kench (58:50) and Mike Fitzgerald (1:04:22) rounded out the top four.
Up next is the 13th virtual session of the season for Lynn Woods running, again consisting of four races. The races, which will take place from Oct. 19 to Nov. 1 will range from 1.67 miles to 5.9 miles.
