The St. John’s Prep golf team has yet to be defeated in the 2020 season, coming away with a 232-240 win over Catholic Conference rival Xaverian Monday afternoon at Ferncroft Country Club in Boxford.
Alex Landry led the way for the Eagles after shooting a score of 34, while Joe Lenane shot 36 and Emmet Phelan shot 37. Spencer Dumas shot 38, while Aidan LeBlanc shot a 39.
The Eagles (8-0) are right back in action Tuesday (3) with a road match against Catholic Memorial at George Wright Golf Course.
GOLF
Bishop Fenwick 155, St. Mary’s 142
Behind a 32-point performance from Jason Romans and a solid team effort, the Crusaders came away with the win at Tedesco Country Club.
Fenwick (10-2) takes on Arlington Catholic Wednesday (3).
Peter Pagliuca led the way for St. Mary’s with 32 points, while Luke Smith (28 points), Andrew Luciano (23 points) and Sean Mathers (18 points) all played well in the loss.
St. Mary’s (2-6) is right back in action Tuesday afternoon (3) with a tri-match against Archbishop Williams and Austin Prep.
FIELD HOCKEY
Marblehead 2, Swampscott 1
Mae Colwell and Madi Monahan each scored one goal for the Magicians in the win, while Tess Keaney had one assist. Goalie Emily Doughman made eight saves in the win, while Jane O’Neil, Canaan Whittier, Ana Ziaziulia and Haven Linehan all played well.
“It was a great 7-on-7 game,” said Marblehead coach Linda Rice Collins. “Both goalies came up with some nice saves, and our midfield and defense worked well together in anticipating Swampscott’s attack.”
Marblehead (2-1) travels to Peabody next Monday (4).
For Swampscott, the lone goal was scored by Brooke Waters on an assist from Olivia Baran.
The Big Blue (2-1-1) travels to Masconomet Thursday (4).
Bishop Feehan 3, Bishop Fenwick 1
Grace Morey had the lone goal for Fenwick, while Arianna Costello had one assist. Cat Elias had 13 saves in net, while Kailey Silva, Emily McPhail and Shannon Nagy all played well.
Fenwick (2-1-1) travels to Austin Prep Thursday (6).
BOYS SOCCER
Lynnfield 0, Hamilton-Wenham 0
Goalkeeper Dante Gesmundo had nine saves in the draw for the Pioneers.

Lauren Braconnier, Julia Colucci, Ashley Mitchell, Lauren Mitchell and Audrey Parisi played well for Lynnfield in the loss.
