Shooting a man in the back who is not threatening the lives of those around him is horrific. For his children to witness this travesty of justice will affect their lives forever.
Why does this keep happening and blatantly in broad daylight? Haven’t people of color suffered enough?
This behavior affects all of us. There are many good, decent policemen and women who do a great job and who suffer for the few who don’t. I don’t believe defunding the police is the answer.
Peaceful protests and speeches do not seem to evoke change. People of color have every right to be hurt and angry about having to endure so much. But violence and looting are not helping their cause.
What I believe will help bring about change is a higher authority to demand that all law enforcement are trained and held accountable for how they do their job.
I believe in law and order for everyone. We fought the civil rights fights to end slavery. Whites must stand boldly with our brothers and sisters and friends and neighbors of every race and creed to ensure their God-given rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
I believe President Trump can make this change. He has helped so many people and I pray for him and Melania to make a difference so we all are safe.
