Country singer Renee Leavitt and the Renegades will be performing at the Bull Spit Brewing Company in Lancaster Saturday from 4-7 pm.
Leavitt, the daughter of former Daily Item sports writer, Gary Leavitt, will perform 13 originals, mixed in with country, rock and pop covers. The band will do three 45-minute sets.
Some in the music industry have compared her voice to that of the pure sound of Karen Carpenter. Leavitt, who is a graduate student at Boston University, is also singing the theme song to the children’s TV show Charlie Horse. She wrote the title theme “Friends For Life.” She also plays the part of Sheena the Shetland for that animation.
The Bull Spit brewing Company provides peace of mind with a social distancing atmosphere. Some have referred to it as a modern day Woodstock with the facility being built into a mountain. Others have said when describing it it reminds them of the Ponderosa in the popular 1960s TV show Bonanza.
