Coronavirus cases continue to rise in Lynn and Revere, both of which reported another double-digit increase on Tuesday.
The two communities were designated as “higher risk” communities by Gov. Charlie Baker on Tuesday, which means the two cities have a high level of COVID-19 infection and will receive additional support from the state to curb the spread.
With 27 new cases reported in Lynn, the city’s caseload is now 4,243. Of that total, 655 cases are active, 111 people have died and 3,477 have recovered from the virus, according to city data.
Revere reported 16 new cases on Tuesday to bring the city’s total number of cases to 2,152. Ninety-four people have died and 1,935 have recovered from the virus, according to the city website.
Elsewhere, numbers remained the same in Lynnfield (111 cases, 11 deaths) and Nahant (50 cases, six deaths), and were not updated in Marblehead, Peabody, Saugus or Swampscott.
As of Monday, Marblehead had 255 cases and 30 deaths, Peabody had 1,178 cases and 174 deaths, and Swampscott had 146 cases and 10 deaths. Numbers have not been updated in Saugus since last Friday, when the town reported 604 cases and 38 deaths.
