Peabody’s Gary Leavitt has returned to radio with Gary Leavitt and Friends on 1510 WMEX Sunday Mornings from 6-9 a.m., beginning July 26.
Leavitt has been in the entertainment business since 1985. He started as a Bruce Springsteen look-a-like for a Boston-based company and has worn many an outfit and hat playing the part of Bozo The Clown for Fox in Providence, celebrity impersonator/comedian for several radio stations in New England and more recently writing an anti-bullying children’s book titled “Charlie Horse.”
“We try to establish something that isn’t really done in radio, a variety show,” said Leavitt. It has everything as is evident with the list of guests for this week’s show.”
By the look of the list of guest list Leavitt may have something there; former NHL Star Bobby Carpenter of Peabody, Boston Comedian/Actor Tony V, Berlin Airlift lead singer Rick Berlin, Actor Algenis Perez Soto (Captain Atlas in the Avengers Captain Marvel Movie) Army Colonel and author Robert Narsisian, PBS’s Cliff Blake and the inventor of the Shoe Fitville James Kuwai.
“No politics, controversy or negatives,” stated Leavitt. “Entertaining, informative, enlightening and plain ol’ fun. Plus we will be giving away Kane’s Donuts to you trivia buffs this weekend.”
