LYNN — Three men have been arrested on murder charges in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred during a July 4 cookout on Fayette Street, according to the Essex County District Attorney’s office.
Authorities are seeking an arrest warrant for a fourth suspect, whose name has not been released.
The men have been charged in connection with a quintuple shooting that left one 35-year-old man, Noe Hernandez, dead and four others injured.
Three of the victims are expected to survive, while the fourth remains in critical condition — he was medflighted to a Boston Hospital with life-threatening injuries after the shooting, authorities said.
Tyrell Berberena, 25, of Malden, was arrested Monday at a gas station on the Cambridge/Somerville line and charged with murder, four counts of armed assault to murder, four counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious injury and carrying a firearm without a license.
Berberena was arraigned in Lynn District Court on Tuesday and was ordered held without bail, authorities said.
Two other suspects, Marcus Carlisle, 22, of Lynn, and Josue Cespedes, 17, were arrested on the same charges, but have not yet been arraigned.
Carlisle was taken into custody in Long Beach, Calif., on Monday with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service. The timing of his return has not been determined, which is dependent on travel restrictions from the COVID-19 pandemic, authorities said.
Cespedes was arrested in Salem on Tuesday morning after a joint effort by the Essex State Police Detective Unit, Lynn Police Department and State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section. He is expected to be arraigned in Lynn District Court on Wednesday, authorities said.
The shooting occurred at around 10 p.m. in the area of 134 Fayette St., which is located about halfway between Collins and Essex streets.
