LYNN — An 86-year-old man was treated for non-life-threatening injuries after he was struck by an SUV while crossing the Lynnway in his motorized wheelchair Monday afternoon, state police said.
Shortly before 4 p.m., State Police responded to the crash on the southbound side of the Lynnway near Dunkin’ Donuts and determined that the man was struck by a 2018 Mazda CX5 SUV, which was driven by a 19-year-old Lynn woman, state police said.
The victim was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, state police said.
“Multiple witnesses stated that the victim in the wheelchair abruptly shot across the roadway into traffic, which had a green light,” the state police statement said.
No charges have been filed and the driver was not injured.
