Lynn resident Francisco Recillas, who as DJ Sisko is one of the Bay State’s most in-demand nightclub party starters, has seen his world change drastically these past few months. But, instead of waiting to get back to work, the Lynn Tech grad took his love of music online and now hosts a weekly online dance party from his home to raise funds for groceries for families in need.
To date, in addition to bringing joy to others every Friday night during the quarantine, he has raised more than $4,000 through donations that have helped feed families in Lynn and Salem. Sisko and his Bodyrock crew buy groceries for some 40 families every week. His efforts caught the attention of the Boston Celtics, who recently honored him as a “Hero Among Us.”
On his Instagram, Sisko said “Every stream I get donations and use them to help families during these times… but I can not take all the credit!! My private event manager @citoevents who is behind all my weddings, quince, and events did all this and more with the help of others!! So every IG stream might help get us all in a good mood and happy but it’s also helping families have basics during these times… as always love you guys!! Can’t wait for all this to be over but please stay inside and enjoy the streams for now.”
