An additional COVID-19 death in Lynn, Saugus, and Swampscott, three more deaths in Peabody, and nine new deaths in Revere were reported Friday.
Lynn reported 1,997 active cases Friday, 21 more than the previous day, and 86 deaths, one more than reported on Thursday. About a third of Lynn residents who have contracted COVID-19 have recovered, with 1,116 recoveries, according to a statement from the office of Mayor Thomas McGee.
The COVID-19 pandemic has also prompted Lynn and Swampscott to cancel their joint Fourth of July celebrations, which were to take place on the third.
Lynnfield’s numbers Friday were unchanged, with 91 cases and 11 deaths.
Marblehead had not released new COVID-19 numbers by press time. The latest data from Marblehead was released Wednesday, with 211 cases and 19 deaths.
The latest numbers from Nahant show 40 cases and six deaths as of Thursday, with no change from the previous day.
Peabody reported 959 cases and 129 deaths Friday, up from 940 cases and 126 deaths on Wednesday.
In Revere, the city reported 67 deaths on Friday, nine more than the previous day, as well as 11 new cases, bringing the total number of cases to 1,534. According to Mayor Brian Arrigo’s office, the city’s weekly average is now 12.6 new cases each day.
In Salem, the latest numbers were released Wednesday, and the city reported 557 cases and 26 deaths. Of those 557 cases, 287 are considered “active.”
Saugus reported 484 cases and 28 deaths Friday, compared to 480 cases and 27 deaths Wednesday.
According to Swampscott Town Administrator Sean Fitzgerald, the town received word of another COVID-19 death on Friday. This brings the total number of deaths in town to nine, which is not yet reflected on the website, which lists eight deaths. The latest data on total number of cases in Swampscott is from Thursday: 119 cases.
