LYNN — A 23-year-old Lynn man was arrested after allegedly assaulting a man and brandishing a handgun at two men inside a Clarendon Avenue apartment Sunday night.
Mikael Brown-Cox, of 13 Clarendon Ave., was charged with two counts of assault and battery, two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a loaded firearm weapon, and other firearms-related offenses.
Shortly after 10 p.m., Lynn Police responded to 13 Clarendon Ave. after receiving a call that a man had pointed a handgun at two other men, ages 23 and 25, inside a unit in the apartment building, Lynn Police Lt. Michael Kmiec said.
A dispute had led to the alleged assault, which resulted in Brown-Cox allegedly punching one of the victims and pointing a handgun at the two men, Kmiec said.
“No shots were fired,” said Kmiec. “He did not fire a round. However, he did point it at the victims.”
At least one of the victims lives in the apartment where the alleged assault occurred and Brown-Cox lives in a separate apartment in the same building, Kmiec said.
Brown-Cox returned to his apartment after the victims were able to force him out of their unit and lock him outside. Responding officers found Brown-Cox inside his unit and took him into custody, Kmiec said.
“The response time was pretty quick,” said Kmiec.
