LYNN — A 17-year-old male was taken to the hospital after a “potential” shooting Friday afternoon.
According to Lynn Police Lt. Rick Donnelly, the boy was walking down Tremont Street when “he heard a pop and felt a burning sensation in his thigh and thought he might have been shot.”
Police and EMTs were called to the scene, and found what “appeared to be a bullet wound,” as well as an exit wound on the boy’s upper thigh, and transported him to Salem Hospital.
Police are investigating the incident, and it’s unknown if the cause of the wound was indeed a gunshot or fireworks. There is no further information at this time.
