I am a parent of a sixth grader. I don’t understand how teachers get out of work paid and expect parents who are still working a full time job to now become the teacher.
Does anyone think about us? If I work 9 to 5 and don’t get back home until after 6 and have to feed the kids, when is there time for me to be a teacher?
Just wondering if you have heard from other parents on this subject.
I just want to add that a student who has attention deficit hyperactivity disorder is not your average sixth grader who may be able to do the work on his own.
I also know all situations are different and there are parents out there who can make it work for them. But I’m also sure there are many more like myself who will have trouble working it in.
