In an effort to exercise, “an abundance of caution,” the schools in Lynn closed Thursday. “In an abundance of caution,” this action added more stress to the situation. In “An Abundance of Caution,” this action added more planning as parents tried to figure out childcare.
This “abundance of caution” could have waited one more day for the week to be over and give some time to parents to figure this out. Did anybody bother to ask a parent or parent teacher organization member?
Thankfully, there were no cases reported and our kids are OK, meaning Friday would have been OK to go to school.
I also wonder if an “abundance of caution” reflects how much political influence from the government there is in general, as the Census mailing hits homes this weekend and Lynn is a ‘Hard To Count” community. Furthermore, “an abundance of caution” sends parents to supermarkets to stock up on food and essentials, adding the concern to get to these places and find more shelves empty.
This makes my kid worry and wonder about his future and the future of the world. It is one more thing children didn’t need to be worried about.
