BOSTON — Two Lynn men pleaded guilty Monday in federal court to drug distribution and firearms charges stemming from a 2017 incident, according to the U.S. Attorney’s office.
Carlos Lopez, aka “C-Lo,” 31, pleaded guilty to heroin and marijuana possession with intent to distribute, being a felon in possession of firearms and ammunition, and possession of firearms in furtherance of drug trafficking crimes.
Dionis Lopez, aka “Kuku,” 29, pleaded guilty to fentanyl, cocaine and marijuana possession with intent to distribute; possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number; and possession of firearms in furtherance of drug trafficking crimes.
The defendants, who were arrested in September 2018, are scheduled to be sentenced in U.S. District Court on July 13. Carlos Lopez faces up to 35 years in prison and a fine of $1.25 million. Dionis Lopez faces up to 30 years in prison and a $1.25 million fine, prosecutors said.
Prosecutors said the two men were arrested and charged following a Nov. 14, 2017 incident.
On that date, prosecutors said Carlos Lopez was in possession of heroin and marijuana with intent to distribute, along with two firearms, a Bersa Model Thunder .380 caliber pistol and a Beretta Model Px4 9mm pistol, and various rounds of 9mm ammunition. Due to a previous conviction, he was barred from possessing a firearm or ammunition.
Dionis Lopez was in possession of fentanyl, cocaine and marijuana with intent to distribute, along with a Glock, Model 27, .40 caliber pistol, which had a defaced serial number and a Glock, Model, 19, 9mm pistol, prosecutors said.
The conviction was announced by Lynn Police Chief Michael Mageary, U.S. Attorney Andrew E. Lelling, law enforcement officers from Boston divisions of the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and Colonel Christopher Mason, superintendent of the Massachusetts State Police.
