The director of a nursing home reported a patient claimed abuse by a staff member at 10:59 a.m. Tuesday on Lafayette Street.
A report of a lottery scam call at 11:31 a.m. Tuesday on Middle Street. A caller reportedly had difficulty understanding he had received a scam call and did not win the lottery. He was asked to send $4,000 because he had won $2 million. Police went to speak with the man to explain that he did not win any money.
A report of an outside odor of natural gas at 1:56 p.m. Tuesday on Washington Street. Several people flagged down an officer, who reported he also smelled the gas. National Grid was notified. A police sergeant reported his crew had just purged their line on Mariners Lane, which was determined to be the cause.
A report of suspicious activity at 10:04 p.m. Tuesday at Nanepashemet and Foster streets. A caller reported his son was egged by kids in a white Toyota while he was walking a friend’s dog.
A man wearing jeans and a pink T-shirt was reportedly pacing back and forth in the area of Sevinor Road and Humphrey Street and waving his hands while holding a water bottle at 7:40 a.m. Wednesday. The caller thought the man’s behavior was strange. Police could not locate the man, but said they would keep an eye on the area.
A report of a man pounding on the door at 11:07 a.m. Wednesday on Pickwick Road. Another neighbor reported the same. The first caller said there was a known man who was walking back and forth and pounding on her door. Another caller described him as an agitated young man who was pacing back and forth. Police spoke with the man, who had gone back into his house.
Fire
A report of a chimney fire at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday on Arthur Avenue. Police reported the fire was removed from the fireplace. The owners said they would have a company look at the chimney.
A report of a fire/burglar alarm sounding at 9:10 p.m. Tuesday on Atlantic Avenue. The owner said the new balloons the business had put toward the back of the store blow around and cause the alarm to sound. He said the alarm should reset itself.
NAHANT
Complaints
A woman called the station at 12:02 p.m. Wednesday to report a white GMC SUV drove by her house at a high rate of speed heading out of town on Nahant Road. Units in the area were notified.
Employees of Coastal Heritage Bank reported suspicious bank activity at 1:43 p.m. Tuesday involving activity on a closed account. No crime was committed and police state further investigation is needed.
A caller at 6:48 p.m. Monday reported there was someone walking outbound down the causeway. An officer was dispatched and reported the party made it to the DCR Bath House and that no further action was needed.
A woman called the station at 5:59 p.m. Monday to report her tenant on Fox Hill Road had not paid rent and was not answering her call. She was referred to the civil process at LDC.
Well Being Check
Police received a call at 11:03 a.m. Wednesday from a man on the Long Beach Causeway stating he witnessed a kite surfer fall off his board and drift out to sea. The calling party reported the surfer made it back to shore safely and wanted police to be aware in case someone else calls about the unattended kite. The kite was described as being black and white in color.

Arrest
Jamal L. Daniels, 38, of 5 Quarry Terrace, was arrested on warrant charges of trespassing, violating an abuse prevention order, and three charges of larceny under $1,200 at 7:52 p.m. Wednesday.
Accidents
A report of an accident on Route 128 northbound at 7:54 a.m. Thursday.
Vandalism
A report of vandalism at 7:55 p.m. Wednesday at 26 Chestnut St. The reporting party told police the wires to the exterior lights on her property were cut.
SAUGUS
Accidents
At 7:28 a.m. Wednesday, Saugus Police requested Fire and EMS for a non-fatal motor vehicle accident near 855 Broadway. An ambulance transported one party to Beverly Hospital.
Complaints
Police received a call at 4:39 p.m. Wednesday from someone at Cliftondale Condominiums who reported a woman causing a disturbance. It was determined the female party made threats against the business.
DPW reported at 2:47 p.m. Wednesday that there were several unregistered motor vehicles on a Water Street property. A dispatched officer reported several unregistered vehicles, four lawn mowers, propane tanks, 32 old tires, and 15 old car batteries on the property. Inspectional Services was notified and a copy of By-Law 602.11 was left for the resident.
911 received a call at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday from a man stating he needed transport to Boston from Hilltop Avenue but was not in need of police or fire services. Dispatched officers report the party was trying to call a company for a ride to Boston.
A caller at 9:39 a.m. Wednesday reported an unwanted male party in the lobby of Saugus Rehabilitation and Nursing on Lincoln Avenue who was causing a disturbance. Dispatched officers report the man left the property and peace had been restored.
Larceny
A caller at 10:46 a.m. Wednesday reported his vehicle was stolen out of the Red Roof Inn lot sometime that morning. The vehicle was later recovered by Chelsea Police. The department may file charges for receiving a stolen motor vehicle.
Well Being Check
A caller at 7:03 a.m. Thursday reported his neighbor’s garage door has been open for a few days and is concerned with his well being. An officer was dispatched to Great Woods Road and spoke with the resident, who did not realize his garage door was open.
