A Parks and Recreation crew was trimming the grass when a rock reportedly flew and broke a car window at 8:47 a.m. Monday on Washington Street. The car owner said he would call a glass company to replace it.
A Middle Street caller told police at 9:36 a.m. Monday he was confused about where he should be voting. He was told to contact Abbot Hall.
A report of an outside chemical odor at 7:10 p.m. Monday on Russell Street. A caller reported she smelled a chemical odor outside and wanted someone to check it out. Police and the fire department responded and reported there was an odor in the air that appeared to smell like burning plastic or rubber. Police later reported the odor was coming from a chimney down the street. The residence had been burning some items.

A motor vehicle hit and run crash was reported at 10:16 a.m. Tuesday at 672 Lowell St. A caller reported a car struck another car in the parking lot and then took off. The suspect vehicle was found at the owner’s address. The car owner was taken to Salem Hospital.
A report of a motor vehicle hit and run crash at 12:24 p.m. Tuesday at McDonald’s at 133 Main St.

A report of an indoor odor of gas at 5:41 p.m. Monday at 29 Keys Drive. Police reported the odor was from a gas stove that had been left on in an apartment. The issue was resolved.
A report of suspicious activity at 6:20 p.m. Monday at South Memorial School at 24 Maple St. A caller reported a group of youths removed the traffic cones from construction on Norfolk Avenue and ran behind the school. Police reported all appeared to be in order and the traffic cones were still placed around the equipment.
A report of threats at 6:48 p.m. Monday at 6132 Crane Brook Way. A caller reported a neighbor’s son was threatening toward his two children as they were returning from the recreation building.
A disturbance was reported at 10:29 p.m. Monday on Coleman Street. A caller reported a loud party with a bonfire. Police spoke with the homeowner who agreed to keep it down for the night.
A report of threats at 5:18 a.m. Tuesday at 85 Gardner St. A caller reported possible blackmail.
Suspicious activity was reported at 8:22 a.m. Tuesday on First Avenue. A caller reported a car was parked across from the railroad, which has apparently been there on past occasions. The car owner was notified, who said her son has the car and that it would be moved.
Police received an anonymous complaint about three dogs barking excessively at 10:58 a.m. Tuesday at 10 Allen Road. The owner was mailed a copy of the city’s barking ordinance and was issued a citation warning for excessive barking.
A report of a neighborhood dispute at 11:58 a.m. Tuesday at 9 Magnolia Ave. A caller reported a confrontation she had with another resident. An officer spoke with both people, who said they would try to avoid each other.

A report of credit card fraud at 4:41 p.m. Monday at 24 Curwen Road.
Vandalism
A report of vandalism at 3:12 p.m. Monday at 29 Abington Ave. There were reportedly scratches on the vehicle.

A report of suspicious activity at 4:48 p.m. Monday at 3 Belleair Drive. A caller reported a man came to his door, rang the bell and then left a door tag when he didn’t answer. The caller said the person tried the door handle, which was locked. Police reported the person appeared to be a solicitor, who was advised on the registration process.
Suspicious activity was reported at 4:50 p.m. Monday at 154 Burrill St. A caller reported an incident that had occurred on Sunday after curbing her dog.
A report of suspicious activity at 5:56 p.m. Monday at 849 Humphrey St. A caller reported some kids may have attempted to grab their dog from the yard.
