A report of a motor vehicle crash at 2:24 p.m. Saturday on Washington Square. A caller reported her car had been struck on Friday across from Abbot Hall.
Complaints
A report of a grandparent scam at 12:06 p.m. Friday on Longview Drive. A caller reported he received a call from someone claiming to be his daughter, who said she had been in a car crash. He said he made arrangements for money to be wired to his “daughter,” but the bank stopped the transfer.
A caller reported three teenagers hopped the fence and went behind the school at 4:59 p.m. Friday on Baldwin Road. Police reported a man and his son were looking for a place to play street hockey.
A report of kids possibly shoplifting at 9:03 p.m. Friday on Washington Street. A manager reported a young man and two young women who were riding bicycles were seen leaving the Crosby’s parking lot with cans in their hands. The manager wasn’t sure if they had stolen anything, but wanted to give police a heads up.
A caller was wondering why the bells were ringing in the downtown area at Abbot Hall on Washington Street at 7:48 a.m. Saturday. Police reported the bells were ringing for former President George Washington’s birthday.
A Longview Drive caller reported at 12:34 p.m. Saturday someone had rung his doorbell at 3 a.m. for three of the past six days. He did not answer the door and was advised to call the police if someone rings his doorbell in the middle of the night.
Theft
A report of identity theft at 11:54 a.m. Saturday on Monroe Road. A woman walked into the police station to report she had been dealing with identity theft since October. She said credit cards were opened under her name, but a Florida address was used. She said she had been unable to get the credit card companies to stop authorizing the use of her name with the incorrect address.
