The Marblehead swim team remained unbeaten in the pool following a 98-59 win over Northeastern Conference opponent Salem Thursday evening at the Marblehead YMCA.
Theo Chemel took first place in the 50 freestyle (24.30), while Cole Brooks won the 200 freestyle with a state-qualifying time of 2:02.68. Carter Murray took first place in diving (176.65), while the team of Murray, Callie O’Neill, Anita Gaunt and Saylor Caruso took first in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:45.26.

The Sachems earned two victories in the tri-meet, with Bruno Auzec placing first in the high jump (5-8) and Marvens Jean taking first in the 50-yard dash (5.9).
Saugus (2-3) will compete in the State Varsity Relays Saturday morning (9) at Reggie Lewis Center.

While Saugus didn’t earn any wins, Amanda Waugh placed second in the shot put (23-9) and Ava Fiorino finished second in the 600 (1:54.0).
