MARBLEHEAD
Breaking and Entering
A report of a breaking and entering at 3:50 p.m. Wednesday on High Street. A caller reported her house was entered more than three weeks ago and a watch was stolen.
A motor vehicle breaking and entering was reported at 4:19 p.m. Wednesday on Atlantic Avenue. A man walked into the station to report his car was broken into about two weeks ago and his toll transponder and phone charger were both taken.
Complaints
A caller reported a child crossed Maple Street unattended by a parent near the Glover School at 8:07 a.m. Wednesday. The caller said this happens often even though the crosswalk and crossing guard are not too far away.
A report of religious solicitors at 10:08 a.m. Wednesday on Hereford Road. A caller reported a woman came to the door and was preaching the gospel. The caller asked to see the woman’s license and the woman relayed that she wasn’t doing anything wrong. The caller said the woman wanted to “hand me some religious (expletive) thing” and asked police if that was allowed. The caller was told it was.
A report of suspicious activity at 11:32 a.m. Wednesday on Cloutmans Lane. A caller reported she heard doors shut and other noises when she was in the bathroom on the second floor. Her husband was at work at the time. She reportedly also heard noises that made her believe someone was using a knife and fork. Police checked the home and the woman was satisfied with the response.
A caller reported there was a group of people doing drugs in a house at 2:16 p.m. Wednesday on Pleasant Street. Police reported the unit was currently unoccupied and the property owner lives on the first floor of the residence.
SAUGUS
Suspicious Activity
An employee at Famous Footwear at Square One Mall called at 8:01 p.m. Wednesday to report two females who had previously shoplifted from the store had come back in. Police were dispatched for more information.
Police received a call at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday from a man who reported several youths at the gym told him they were approached by a man at Veterans Memorial Elementary School who asked them if they wanted to buy drugs. Officers later talked to the witnesses who said they had been approached by two males on the playground asking them if they wanted to buy weed.
Loss prevention for Sears at Square One Mall called at 11:07 a.m. Wednesday to report they had stopped a male for shoplifting. Officers were dispatched for more information.
Animal Services
A caller at 6:02 p.m. Wednesday reported finding two German Shepherd puppies on the Lynn Fells Parkway. The caller stated he would be bringing the animals to his home until the owner contacted the station. The puppies were eventually reunited with their owner.
Thefts
Police received a walk-in report at 4:55 p.m. Wednesday from a man stating a license plate had been taken from his trailer parked in the lot on Ballard Street. A report was taken.
A woman came into the station at 10:56 a.m. Wednesday to report someone had taken $800 out of her checking account from the Encore Casino. Officers took down a report.
