LYNN — A 62-year-old woman from Coral Springs, Fla., collided with a car on the General Edwards Bridge just after midnight Wednesday, and the impact sent her Nissan pickup truck over the bridge’s guardrail and into a wooded area below.
State police reported the 2006 Nissan collided with a 2002 Toyota Tundra at the end of the bridge nearest the Lynnway.
She was trapped in the car and had to be extricated by the Lynn Fire Department. She was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital for treatment.
The other driver, a 65-year-old man from Revere, was unharmed, but his 56-year-old female passenger was taken to North Shore Medical Center in Salem. The condition of both injured people is unknown and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
