LYNN — A 23-year-old Lynn man spent his Thanksgiving in the hospital after he was shot twice Thursday night, police said.
The apparent drive-by shooting occurred shortly before 7 p.m. The victim told police he was standing at the Lynnway and Tudor Street intersection when he was struck by two shots that were fired from a passing car, Lynn Police Lt. Rick Donnelly said.
The man was shot in the thigh and hand. He was taken by ambulance to Massachusetts General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Donnelly said.
When police arrived and found the victim, he was nearly unconscious, Donnelly said.
“The victim was losing blood and officers believed that the victim had been shot on the femoral artery,” Donnelly said. “Officers applied a tourniquet to control the bleeding and the victim regained consciousness before being transported to the hospital.”
No arrests have been made and the incident is under investigation.
