The holiday season isn’t looking quite so bright for one family who’s had a particularly difficult year.
The parent of multiple young children, one of whom has special needs, wrote to Item Santa asking for just a little assistance this Christmas.
“It’s been a rough year,” the letter said.
After months of waiting for a big surgery that the letter-writer’s daughter will need to undergo as a result of her disability, this parent says “trying to balance a job and care for her needs is tough,” and that the family hasn’t had the chance to plan for the holidays because any time not working is spent preparing for the procedure and taking care of the dependent family member.
This parent also says the journey has been “quite a process,” and that the family has been waiting and planning for the surgery several for months now.
As a way to help ease the burden, they say they would appreciate it if Item Santa could pitch in and make sure every child in the family feels special and is able to open a gift of their very own from Santa Claus this year.
“I would appreciate it if you could help us out,” they wrote.
This family is just one of many who have turned to Item Santa for assistance in ensuring their children have a happy and memorable Christmas. Any contribution from readers will help make this a reality for every child.
