SAUGUS — As a result of a vacancy for Precinct 10 Town Meeting, which was created by Michael Serino’s election to the Board of Selectmen, and because there was no sixth place finisher or write-in candidate with 30 votes, the remaining four town members must select a replacement.
Article 1, Section 7 of The Saugus Town Charter outlines this process.
The remaining four members of the Precinct 10 delegation — Martin Costello, Steven DiVirgilio, Peter Manoogian and Darren Ring — want to have an open process by which any resident of Precinct 10 can be considered for appointment to fill this vacancy, Manoogian said.
The appointment will be by majority vote of the four remaining members in the presence of the Saugus Town Clerk.
Residents of Precinct 10 vote at the Italian-American Club on Beachview Avenue.
Those wishing to be considered should submit a letter of interest, with their full name, address, phone number or email address as well as whatever relevant information they wish to be considered.
This can be submitted via email to [email protected] no later than Monday, Dec. 2 at 5 p.m.
Applications may also be mailed to: Precinct 10 Vacancy, 50 Ballard St., Saugus, 01906.
