With four runners in the top 35, the St. John’s Prep cross country team won the Division 1 all-state meet Saturday at Gardner Municipal Golf Course.
Steven Jackson (fourth overall, 16:24), Nathan Lopez (ninth, 16:36), George Nikolakopoulos (22nd, 16:47) and Noah Mooney (35th, 16:58) were St. John’s top performers.
Marblehead’s Loeden Rodriguez finished the 5k course third overall at 16:22, just 16 seconds behind first-place runner Mike Griffin from King Phillip. Marblehead’s Peter Clifford placed 53rd at 17:07. The Magicians finished 14th overall in the team standings.
In the Division 2 all-state meet, St. Mary’s Taban Manyok finished ninth overall at 16:58. Lynnfield finished 19th overall in the team standings. Running well for the Pioneers were Pat Walsh (17:54), Mike Madden (19:16), Mike Dreher (19:35), Sam Pifko (19:35), John Briggs (19:56), Jake Soriano (21:32) and Lucas Williams (24:13).
Bishop Fenwick’s Ava Mahoney finished 14th (20:07) in the Division 2 girls all-state meet. Crusaders Corinne Ahern (22:16), Grace Kabut (23:05), Catherine Carter (23:26), Maria O’Donnell (23:25), Abigail Carr (24:24) and Sarah Fogarty (24:28) also ran well. Fenwick placed 17th in the team standings.
