John Joseph Barteaux, 52, of 65 Main St., was arrested on Sunday at 10:44 a.m. on two counts of assault and battery on a police officer, disorderly conduct and threats to kill following a well-being check at his home.

Report of a raccoon in the backyard at 3 Sycamore Circle on Sunday at 4:05 p.m. She believes the animal is rabid. Raccoon was put to sleep and will be delivered to the Department of Public Works for disposal.

Officer reports wire down at 217 Lynn St. prior to Brown’s Pond where a tree branch is blocking the driveway on Friday at 8:16 p.m. Peabody Municipal Light Plant has been contacted and are on the scene. All clear.

Caller from 617 Lowell St. advising he is having a verbal dispute with his contractor on Saturday at 7:31 a.m. He asked contractor to leave the property but he is refusing. Received a second call from the contractor’s worker and all were advised to stay away from each other and wait for officers to arrive. Officer advised the issue was a civil matter, officer will document.
Caller reports his car was damaged overnight at 4 Tremont St. on Saturday at 7:56 a.m. No suspects. Officer will document the damage.
Local business owner is threatening to close Kennedy Field Park and charge $50 per space to park on Saturday at 8:33 a.m. Staff from the Park Department called dispatch and stated that the city has an agreement to park there and the agreement is in the Parks Department office, but is not accessible until Tuesday.
