Joas Desouza, 30, of 44 Allen Ave., was arrested and charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and marked lanes violation at 4:06 p.m. Tuesday. 

Joseph Giardina, 37, of 91 Liberty St., was arrested on warrant charges of assault and battery and malicious wanton property defacement at 11:19 a.m. Wednesday. 

John Marino, 30, of 17 Chestnut St., Beverly, was arrested and charged with larceny at 7:41 p.m. Tuesday. 

Joel Sanchez, of 2 Stephen St., was arrested on warrant charges of operation of a motor vehicle with a suspended license and no inspection/sticker at 4:23 a.m. Wednesday. 

Michael Tate, of 17A Rhodes Ave., was arrested on a warrant at 8:34 a.m. Wednesday. 


A report of a motor vehicle hit and run crash at 3:38 p.m. Tuesday at Burchstead Place and Union Street; at 5:06 p.m. Tuesday at Broad and Chestnut streets.

A report of a motor vehicle crash at 4:25 p.m. Tuesday at Lynnway and Marine Boulevard; at 9:27 p.m. Tuesday at Centre Street and Western Avenue; at 7:15 a.m. Wednesday at 186 Den Quarry Road; at 8:27 a.m. Wednesday at Bennett and Oakville streets.

Motor vehicle crash with property damage reported at Fatface at 1110 Market St. on Tuesday at 1:18 p.m. Officer reports one operator taken to Winchester Hospital.

Report of a motor vehicle crash on Tuesday at 1:41 p.m. at Route 128 North at Exit 41. Officer reports no injuries and the Massachusetts State Police are on the scene and are all set.


The Reading Police Department reports they received a 911 call from the Wakefield Elks Club at 63 Bay State Road on Tuesday at 7:08 a.m. Officer checked and everything is OK.

Security company canceled the burglar alarm at 27 Edgemere Road on Tuesday at 8:52 a.m. 

Accidental burglar alarm sounded at 5 Timberhill Lane on Tuesday at 7:05 p.m. 

False burglar alarm was reported from 10 Elizabeth Way on Tuesday at 7:42 p.m. Officer reports all is secure.


Caller from 4 Old Wood Road reported a contractor is on her property on Tuesday at 12:23 p.m. Officer reports parties came to an understanding. 

Malicious destruction of property reported at 419 Summer St. on Tuesday at 5:09 p.m. No details provided. 

Caller reported a suspicious motor vehicle on Tuesday at 6:44 p.m. at the end of Phillips Road. Officer reports the vehicle was gone upon arrival. 

A neighbor disturbance was reported from 375 North Broadway on Tuesday at 7:42 p.m. No details provided. 

Property check at Summer Street School at 262 Summer St. on Wednesday at 12:02 a.m.  

Medical Aid 

Lahey Health Center at 1350 Market St. requested an ambulance on Tuesday at 9:10 a.m. Patient taken to Lahey Hospital & Medical Center. 

Sunrise Assisted Living at 55 Salem St. requested an ambulance for a resident on Tuesday at 10:25 a.m. Patient taken to Salem Hospital. 

Caller from 46 Oakridge Terrace requested medical aid on Tuesday at 11:06 a.m. Patient taken to Salem Hospital. 

Ambulance requested at 5 Village Row on Tuesday at 3:53 p.m. Patient taken to Massachusetts General Hospital.

A 911 call was received on Wednesday at 5:39 a.m. from Lynnfield Commons at 375 North Broadway, Apt. 2-G02 by a son calling for his 90-year-old father who is short of breath. Patient taken to Melrose/Wakefield Hospital.



A caller reported her Uber driver got into a minor motor vehicle crash on Pleasant Street at 3:09 p.m. on Tuesday.

A caller reported a minor motor vehicle crash on Atlantic Avenue at 10 p.m. on Tuesday.


A caller reported at 7:59 a.m. on Tuesday that when he went to go to the dog park on Lime Street, there was a piece of equipment blocking the roadway. He stated he believed it was an effort to not allow people to go to the dog park.

A caller reported at 9:44 a.m. on Tuesday that her son was out of control. She stated he left their Meadow Lane home, came back and smashed out a window and broke things in the house.

A coach from the middle school’s cross country team walked in at 2:54 p.m. on Tuesday and reported one of his runners was nearly hit on Monday while running on the neck. He stated he would like a cruiser in the area between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. because people blow right through the stop signs.

A caller reported at 5:40 p.m. on Tuesday that a female was wandering around near Mooring Road and she looked either lost or confused. They stated she was walking down toward the beach wearing a poncho and kept stopping to look in her bag. Responding officers located the woman and spoke with her before issuing her a summons.

A caller reported at 6:06 p.m. on Tuesday there is a daycare near Fieldbrook Road where cars are flying down the street during child drop offs and pickups. They stated a Porsche flew down the street and they yelled at the driver to slow down. The driver then got out of the car, went onto his property and confronted him.



Robert Matthis, 37, of 20 Burrill Ave., Saugus, was summoned following a report of a suspicious motor vehicle on Railroad Avenue for attaching plates, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle and a revoked registration on Monday at 6:17 p.m.

Danielle Franco, 37, was summoned on Tuesday at 10:22 a.m. following a report of fraud at Family Estates Cooperative at 154 Newbury St. Owners reported an overnight break-in through a bedroom window and medicines were stolen.

Kevin Ingham, 47,  of 11 Butternut Ave., was summoned on Tuesday 1:59 p.m. following a motor vehicle stop at Golf Tech, 194 Newbury St., for operating a motor vehicle without insurance and an expired license. The vehicle was towed by Four-Star Towing.


Caller reports her motor vehicle was struck while parked at Nordstrom at 210 Andover St. at the Northshore Mall on Monday at 3:37 p.m. Note was left on her vehicle with name and telephone number, but party reports no one answered when called. Officer reports  vehicle was towed by Todisco Towing, no injuries. 

Motor vehicle crash reported at 73 Margin St. on Monday at 3:39 p.m. Officer reports no injuries, no tows, officer will document. 

Hit and run crash reported at 4 Berry St. on Monday at 6:12 p.m. Caller said her car was struck by a blue vehicle that fled the scene towards Warren Street. She said the car was going too fast for a plate number or further description. Car was exiting the parking lot at 50 Warren St. when it was struck while parked. Officer will check the lot throughout the night to see if he can find a vehicle matching that description.

Report of a hit and run crash on Monday at 9:11 p.m. at   Bancroft & Co., 210 Andover St. Caller said her vehicle was struck by pole 10. No witnesses or suspects. Officer will document.

Hit and run crash reported on Tuesday at 12:01 a.m. at the Holiday Inn at 1 Newbury St. Caller said he left his vehicle at the hotel for two days, and returned to find it was struck and damaged.

Two-car crash reported on Tuesday at 7:25 a.m. at 9 Washington St. Officer reports one tow truck needed and Todisco’s Towing en route. 

Motor vehicle crash reported on Tuesday at 9:38 a.m. at 567 Lowell and 2 Goodale St. Officer will document. 

Caller reports he was involved in a motor vehicle crash on Tuesday at 11:09 a.m. at 208 Andover St. and Route 128 North. Officer reports no injuries, no tow trucks needed.


Caller reports a silver sedan speeding on Bowen Road on Monday at 4:53 p.m. Vehicle is parked in front of 17 Bowen Road. Officer reports vehicle in question was not on scene upon arrival. Officer spoke with the party in question’s mother, who will remind him to drive slower in the neighborhood.

Complaint about three dirt bikes riding on the road and popping wheelies and operating unsafely at 163 Washington St. at 124 Foster St. on Monday at 6:17 p.m. Officer checked the area and could not locate the bikes. 

Caller from Family Estates Cooperative at 154 Newbury St., Apt. 11 wants his 35-year-old daughter removed from the premises. Officer reports the woman left without incident on Monday at 7:40 p.m. 

Resident of 1025 Crane Brook Way reports her son’s bicycle was stolen on Monday at 7:52 p.m. Officer spoke with a party who said he will return the bike. Officer will document.

Caller said he sees someone inside his home at 42 Ellsworth Road on the security system on Monday at 8:41 p.m. Sargent reports an open door. The officers checked the interior of the house and no one was inside. The mother showed up and said her son never saw anyone on the video. He thought he heard two people talking.

Stoneham Police Department is seeking assistance to find a missing juvenile they said may be at her stepfather’s house at 4 Brown St. on Monday at 10:40 p.m. Lynnfield officer said there was no answer at the residence and there were no vehicles in the driveway. Stoneham police were updated and given a possible address in Lynn for the stepfather.

Report of a man banging on the door and trying to enter 93 Gardner St. and won’t identify himself on Monday at 11:03 p.m. He was described as a possible Hispanic man wearing red shorts and a blue jacket. Caller said he entered the white house across the street. Party was identified as the caller’s neighbor who said he lost his iPod and tracked it by an app to her address and wanted to ask her if she’s found it. 

Neighbor reports loud music coming from an apartment at 135 Lowell St. on Monday at 11:20 p.m. Officer spoke with the residents and asked them to turn the music down.

Fight in progress reported at the Golden Banana at 151 Newbury St. on Monday at 11:43 p.m. Massachusetts State Police on scene. Officer reports it was a past fight and advised parties to take out their own charges if they desire. Officer standing by until an Uber arrives for the parties to disperse. Uber never came, officer transporting party back to their home.

Report of several men yelling out the front door of 17 Tuckers Court on Tuesday at 12:21 a.m. Officer reports subject was being dropped off by friends from work and was loud. Officer reports all is OK.

Person reported sleeping next to the ATM at Bank of America at 150 Main St. on Tuesday at 2:08 a.m. Officer reports the person was sent on their way.

Caller from the Newbury Street Inn reported there are several cars parked behind the hotel on Tuesday at 5:54 a.m. that are being loud and speeding in the parking lot when they leave. Officer reports a few cars coming and going, but nothing loud. Officers will stay in the area monitoring for a bit longer.

Man reported stuck in an elevator at 75 Central St. on Tuesday at 8:32 a.m. Lynnfield Fire Department was able to free the man.

Disturbance reported on Tuesday at 8:53 a.m. at 1317 Crane Brook Way. Caller reports a lot of banging going on in the apartment. Officer said that they were listening to music and were asked to lower the volume.

Received a report of a woman walking into backyards and looking into parked motor vehicles at Gallant Road and Westview Circle on Tuesday at 10:03 a.m. She was described as wearing burgundy scrubs and has a backpack. Officers checked the area and the only people out were landscapers and homeowners cleaning their yards.

Caller reports a female stumbling down the street at 2 Willowbrae Drive and 35 Perley Ave. on Tuesday at 10:18 a.m. She is described as white, thin, in her 40’s, 5-foot-7-inch with reddish blonde hair, and wearing jean shorts. The officer checked the area but he was not able to locate the woman. 

A Burlington Coat Factory employee at 310 Andover St. reported a past shoplifting on Tuesday at 2:37 p.m. Officer said the woman left in a motor vehicle with Massachusetts plate 9SM588 with an unknown amount of goods. The incident occurred between 1:50 and 2 p.m. 



Police responded to a report of shoplifters at the Abercrombie & Fitch store in the Square One mall on Tuesday at 12:50 p.m.

Police responded to a report of shoplifting at the Target on Lynn Fells Parkway on Tuesday at 6:23 p.m.

Police received a report from a Founders Way resident on Wednesday at 7:11 a.m. who said his motor vehicle was stolen earlier this week.


Police responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident with injuries at the CVS pharmacy on Route 1 on Tuesday at 7:20 p.m.
