Graham Inzana tossed four touchdown passes as the Swampscott football team grabbed its first win of the season with a 35-7 victory Friday at Salem.
Zack Palmer hauled in a pair of touchdown passes (12 yards in the first quarter, 60 yards in the second quarter).
Inzana also tossed touchdowns to Andrew Augustin (50 yards) and Arturo Vazquez (30 yards). Dylan January capped the scoring with a 50-yard touchdown run. Tom Frisoli went 5-for-5 on PAT’s.
“The bottom line is we’re getting healthier,” Swampscott coach Bob Serino said. “Last week we had a major sick bug. This week things were much better in practice. Guys got healthier.”
The Big Blue (1-1) travel to Beverly next Saturday (1).
“It’s going to be great,” Serino said. “Hurd Stadium’s a great stadium to play in. I know (Beverly) coach Andrew Morency. It’s going to be a great game if we have a great week of practice.”
KIPP 50, Chelsea 16
Daniel Oluwasuyi scored two touchdowns on five carries for 113 yards. Quarterback Pierro Canales scored two touchdowns- one on the ground and one via pass to Joseph Tolentino. Canales finished with 89 rushing yards and 60 passing yards. Taj King scored on a 30-yard jet sweep. Jonathan Caraballo (24-yard rush) and Jaydon Walker (8-yard rush) rounded out the scoring.
Dave Filias led the defense with 12 tackles, a forced fumble and a sack. Mike Bryce played well at nose guard.
KIPP (1-1) visits Nashoba Tech next Friday (7).
“It was great to get our first win,” KIPP coach Jim Rabbitt said. “We played a complete 48 minutes. Everybody got the chance to play. We got some younger guys in the game at the end and that was great to see. No mistakes, no turnovers. It was great to see the dedication.”
Fenwick 40, Wilmington 6
David Cifuentes got the scoring started with an 80-yard kickoff return. Fenwick led 21-0 at halftime (touchdowns from Joe Rivers and Dan Richard) and never looked back from there. Cifuentes made it 27-0 on a 55-yard touchdown run in the second half. Chrys Wilson returned an interception and Angel Martinez returned a kickoff to cap the scoring.
Fenwick (3-0) visits Arlington Catholic next Friday (6:30) at Hormel Stadium.
BOYS SOCCER
Peabody 4, St. Mary’s 2
The Spartans held a 2-1 lead early in the second half but Peabody (3-2) notched the win with three unanswered goals.
Kyle Morfis scored two goals. Cairo Dalifour and Kyle Joyce each scored once.
Fenwick 4, Malden Catholic 0
Fenwick (4-1) goalie Liam Foley logged his second consecutive shutout with three saves.
Sean Kern drove the offense with three goals and one assist. Liam Chricton scored once.
St. John’s 6, Catholic Memorial 0
Zach Vlachos scored his first two goals of the season. Tucker Smith scored his first goal of the season. Gabe Najim and Ethan Ambrosh each scored one goal. An own goal accounted for the sixth.
Goalies Joey Waterman and John Godwin split time in net for the shutout.
FIELD HOCKEY
Danvers 2, Swampscott 1
Isabella Modica scored Swampscott’s lone goal on Jordan Waters’ assist.
Olivia Passalaqua, Brooke Waters and goalie Chloe Rakaukas played well for the Big Blue.
Marblehead 2, Peabody 0
Callie O’Neill and Jane O’Neil scored one goal and dished one assist each.
Jette Arts, Robin Arts, Maddy Dimare, Emma Ferrante, Ellie Gransbury, Julie Arts, Leah Veprek
and Grace Orloff also played well for Marblehead.

Set scores were 25-20, 25-23 and 25-19.
Anna Arbo lead the team with six kills, Anna Schluter had four kills and three blocks and Haley Lemieux had five kills. Abby Schwartz added 14 digs.
