LYNN — A large area of Broad Street was without water on Monday night due to a ruptured main, according to Daniel O’Neill, Lynn Water and Sewer Commission executive director.
Crews were still on scene after 9:30 p.m. on Monday trying to find a source of the water main break, which occurred around 7:30 p.m., according to Lynn Fire Capt. Joseph Zukas.
A two-inch connection to the main raptured, which required it to be shut off. A large area was left without water because six gates had to be turned off, O’Neill said.
Water service was expected to return late Monday night, O’Neill said.
Zukas said extra fire engines would respond to the area for any 911 calls, while it was being serviced.
