The Lynnfield girls soccer team ended a three-game winless skid Thursday afternoon with a 5-0 win over Rockport, picking up its first win of the season.
Anna Maria Ferrante was on fire, scoring a career-high four goals. Ashley Mitchell scored one goal and notched one assist, while Lauren Mitchell, Adriana Parisi, Lexi Veglia and Emma Ricciardi had one assist each.
The Pioneers (1-2-1) will play Monday at Hamilton-Wenham (3:45).
GIRLS SOCCER
Tech 2, Nashoba 0
The Tigers got goals from Felicity Blaney-Williams and Helen Pojoy in the win, while Sandy Garcia Ramirez had one assist.
Tech is now 2-3 and travels to Northeast Tuesday (4).
BOYS SOCCER
Malden Catholic 3, St. Mary’s 0
Eduardo Toranzo, Ryan Fraher and Richie Lebrum played well in the loss. The Spartans (0-3) host Cardinal Spellman Monday night (7).

It was Peter Pagliuca who led the way for the Spartans in Thursday’s win, as he shot 1-over for the day and notched 34 points. Aidan Emmerich and Luke Sargent were right behind with 32 points each, while Sean Mathers had 24 points. Luke Smith added 23 points, Rich Pagliuca had 17 points and Andrew Luciano had 16 points.
St. Mary’s (6-1) hosts Lowell Catholic Monday (4) at Gannon Golf Course.
Classical 33, Northeast 30
The Rams got wins from Luke Rao, Daniel Finnigan and Matt Patrie. Classical (3-3) hosts Saugus Monday (4) at Gannon Golf Course.
St. John’s 206, Malden Catholic 266
The Eagles collected three wins this week and remain undefeated on the season at 5-0.
Top performers were Aidan LeBlanc (32), Matt Remley (33), Robbie Forti (34) Emmet Phelan (35), Oliver Hermann (36) and Alex Landry (36).

FIELD HOCKEY
Swampscott 2, Marblehead 0
Isabella Modica had one goal and one assist to pace the offense for Swampscott. Jordan Waters added one goal, while Olivia Passalecqua and Maddy O’Brien each had one assist.
Swampscott (3-1) plays on the road at Saugus Friday (4).
Marblehead got solid performances from Sammi Bendicksen, Maddy Dimare and Mae Colwell in the loss.
The Magicians host Saugus Monday (4).
BOYS CROSS COUNTRY
Marblehead 18, Gloucester 45
Nate Mullins finished in first place for Marblehead, running a time of 19:34. John Lucas was right behind in second place, finishing in 19:36.

GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY
Marblehead 15, Gloucester 50
The Magicians took all of the top seven spots in the race in order to take home the victory. Caroline Johnson finished first with a time of 21:12, followed by Tess Whalen in second place with a time of 21:26. Olivia Cleary finished in third (21:39), Michaela Haliotis finished fourth (21:58), Olivia Chickering finished fifth (22:38), Claire Tips finished sixth (23:11) and Riley Bowen finished seventh (23:19).
