Letter to the editor: If they can build, why can’t we?

This past June the Tidmarsh Wildlife Sanctuary — a 481-acre landscape of cold-water streams, ponds, forest, and woodlands in Plymouth received funding from the Baker administration and the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) to construct an accessible trail to provide recreational opportunities through this wildlife sanctuary.

Massachusetts Audubon leadership publicly stated that they were “delighted” to receive this funding as it allows these sensitive lands to be “permanently protected and open for all to enjoy.”

If such a trail can be thoughtfully, cooperatively and successfully developed through a protected habitat in Plymouth, why can we not accomplish this for Lynnfield?

Please attend the Special Town Meeting at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26 and vote “YES” on the warrant to fund the design stage of our rail trail.
