LYNN

Arrests 

Nelson Alvarez, 54, of 16 Robinson St., was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of property damage, alcohol from an open container in a motor vehicle and OUI liquor second offense at 1:21 p.m. Friday. 

Elfido Echeverria-Ochoa, 44, of 32 Brookvale St., was arrested and charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and on a warrant charge of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle at 9:37 a.m. Sunday. 

Joel Guerrero, 23, of 189 Henry Ave., was arrested and charged with operation of a motor vehicle with a suspended registration and uninsured motor vehicle/trailer at 3:50 a.m. Sunday. 

Yener Hernandez-Lopez, 18, of 41 Park St., was arrested and charged with operation of a motor vehicle with a suspended license, leaving the scene of property damage, uninsured motor vehicle/trailer, number plate violation to conceal ID, witness/juror/police/court official intimidation and on warrant charges of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and no inspection/sticker at 10:30 p.m. Friday. 

Betzat Ortiz, 38, was arrested and charged with drinking in public, arrestee furnishing false ID information and on warrant charges of two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery on family/household member, strangulation or suffocation and arrestee furnishing false ID information at 1:11 p.m. Saturday. 

Sender Pojoy-Chiguichon, 27, of 36 Warren St., was arrested and charged with drinking in public at 2:47 p.m. Friday.

MARBLEHEAD 

Accidents 

A report of a person struck by a car at 11:14 p.m. Friday on Pleasant Street. A caller reported a car vs. bicycle crash. A person was taken to Salem Hospital. The bike was picked up and taken to the police station. 

Complaints 

A group was reportedly playing loud music and smoking marijuana at 10:33 p.m. Friday on Lighthouse Lane. Police reported the lot was empty and the gate would be secured.

A caller reported someone placed a chair and other objects in the middle of the road at 11:53 p.m. Friday at Ocean Avenue and Wallace Road. She was afraid that someone would hit it. The objects were moved out of the road by an officer. 

A report of a disturbance at 2:45 a.m. Saturday on Darling Street. A partially or completely nude man was reportedly in the back of the building moaning and making animal noises outside. Police reported the man was on the back porch clothed, but was carrying on. He was sent inside for the night. 

A report of suspicious activity at 3:16 a.m. Saturday on Atlantic Avenue. A caller reported hearing a voice by her door saying “hello,” but didn’t see anyone. Police responded to the area and didn’t find anything. A woman had pulled over because she was tired, but denied being the person involved. 

A caller reported three juvenile squirrels threw themselves out of a tree and it appeared two had died at 11:26 a.m. Saturday on Flint Street. The third was badly injured. The caller did not live at the residence and was told disposing of dead wildlife on private property was the homeowner’s responsibility. Animal Control was notified about the injured squirrel. 

A woman was reportedly holding a drone found in the driveway of 217 West Shore Drive at 1:42 p.m. Saturday. 

A disturbance was reported at 8:11 p.m. Saturday on Pitman Road. A caller reported she could hear what sounded like a man “screaming in the water and splashing.” She said she couldn’t see anything. The harbormaster reported there wasn’t anyone in distress or on the beach.

A disturbance was reported at 10:33 p.m. Saturday on Carna Road. A caller reported something was thrown at the house and wasn’t sure what it was. Police reported that there wasn’t any damage to the house. Three kids in a car drove by. 

Multiple callers reported a person yelling obscenities over a PA system at 10:48 p.m. Saturday on Liberty Lane. The harbormaster checked the area and didn’t find anything. 

A person drove by and reportedly smashed a window before taking off at 10:52 p.m. Saturday on Saturn Road.  

A disturbance was reported at 12:39 a.m. Sunday on Pleasant Street. A caller reported multiple people fighting in the middle of the street. Police responded and didn’t see a fight. 

Theft 

A stolen bike was reported at 8:12 p.m. Saturday on Pleasant Street. Another bike was left behind. 

A report of a larceny/forgery/fraud at 8:17 p.m. Saturday on Mechanic Street. A caller reported someone bought an iPhone by using his name. 

NAHANT 

Breaking and Entering

A report of a breaking and entering at 10:38 a.m. Wednesday at Nahant Country Club on Nahant Road. A caller reported a safe was stolen on Tuesday night. Nikeyia L. Saunders, 40, of 442 Chestnut St., Lynn, was summoned for nighttime building breaking and entering for a felony, larceny from building and malicious destruction of property. 

Complaints 

A report of suspicious activity at 9:11 a.m. Tuesday at Forty Steps Beach on Nahant Road. A caller reported a “homeless looking” person walked off the beach and was looking into parked cars. Police said the person wasn’t looking into cars and was looking for a ride home. He was taken to the Market Street area in Lynn. 

Suspicious activity was reported at 4:05 p.m. Tuesday at Tudor Beach on Willow Road. A caller reported she found some bones on the beach that she thought were from a child’s tibia and fibula. The medical examiner reported they were bones from the humerus and ulna of a seagull. 

A DCR ranger reported having a confrontation with an aggressive person at 12:22 p.m. Wednesday at DCR Long Beach Lot on Causeway. The ranger reported the man was walking along the beach with an unleashed dog, and the man became aggressive when he was told to leash the dog. The man reportedly told the ranger to get away from him and that he would do whatever he wanted to. 

A caller reported kids trespassing on private property and jumping off Castle Rock at 12:49 p.m. Thursday. 

A report of a disturbance at 5:16 p.m. Thursday at Tides Restaurant on Wilson Road. A caller reported a suspicious man was causing a problem in front of the restaurant. Police reported the man was gone before their arrival. 

A disturbance was reported at 11:52 p.m. Friday at Nahant Rotary on the Causeway. A caller, a dispatcher for Tom’s Taxi, reported that one of his drivers was involved in some type of altercation. The suspect reportedly appeared to be drunk and became belligerent when he was told there was already a passenger. No threats, assault or crime was reported. 

A caller reported at 5:02 a.m. Saturday on Ocean Street that she called a couple of weeks back to complain about a vehicle parking in front of her house. The driver reportedly urinated behind the truck before walking away. The vehicle was still parked out back and was tagged by police. It belongs to a fisherman who launches from the Wharf and then parks in the area. 

PEABODY 

Arrests

James Murray, 41, of 14 Collins St., Apt. 11, was arrested on a warrant for assault and battery on an elderly person on Thursday at 7:02 p.m. 

Robert Murray, 43, of 14 Collins St., Apt. 11, was arrested on a warrant for assault and battery on an elderly person and resisting arrest on Thursday at 7:02 p.m. 

Genesio J. Oliveira, 40, of 52 Woodrow Ave., Haverhill, was arrested for intimidating a witness on Friday at 10:32 a.m. 

Summons

Summons delivered to 23 Dale St. on Thursday at 4:49 p.m. 

Waldiney DaSilva, 48, of  28 Harris St., Apt. 1, was summoned following a motor vehicle stop at Peabody District Court at 1 Lowell St. for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle on Thursday at 5:35 p.m. 

Yerfris Taverapena, 21, of  49 Butler St., Salem, was summoned on Thursday at 7:54 p.m. following a motor vehicle stop at A Plus Market at 50 Central St. for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Vehicle towed by Arrington Towing.

Accidents

Motor vehicle crash reported at the Dunkin’ Donuts parking lot at 3 Central St. on Thursday at 4:37 p.m. Officer reports no injuries, assisted with paperwork exchange.

Report of a motor vehicle crash at Capone’s Restaurant at 147 Summit St. on Friday at 8:41 a.m. Officer reports vehicle was towed.

Animal Control

Report of a stray Corgi-like dog at 96 Foster St. on Friday at 12:29 p.m. Animal control officer reports the dog was gone upon arrival.

Complaints 

Resident of Gardner Apartments at 22 Pulaski St. reported men in guest parking lot hanging around outside their motor vehicles, a silver Volkswagen Golf and a red Jeep Liberty who are smoking and loitering on Thursday at 3:25 p.m. Officer reports the parties were speaking and sent on their way.

Caller reported a black pickup truck operating erratically at 9 Grant and 13 Meade St., fishtailing and speeding on Thursday at 6:24 p.m. Officer reports vehicle gone upon arrival.

A motorist reported a downed wire on Elm near Wallis streets on Friday at 6:41 a.m. Caller said it may not be an electrical wire, phone or cable. Officer reports the Peabody Municipal Light Plant arrived and took care of the low hanging wires.  

Tree down reported on Friday at 10:58 a.m. at 50 Tremont St. Officer reports the Department of Public Works was contacted, tree branch is off to the side of the road. 

SWAMPSCOTT 

Accidents 

A report of a motor vehicle hit and run crash at 2:38 p.m. Saturday at Dunkin’ Donuts at 980 Paradise Road.
