LYNN — Police are investigating after a pickup truck struck several parked cars and took down a utility pole on Lynnfield Street at Frederick Circle Wednesday night.
The driver, a Lynn man in his 30s, was taken to Salem Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The parked cars were unoccupied and there were no other injuries. It’s unclear if the driver was impaired or what caused the crash, Lynn Police Sgt. Henry Wojewodzic said.
Shortly before 10 p.m., Lynn Police received multiple calls for a truck that had hit at least four parked cars and then slammed into a pole, which snapped the structure from its bottom and left wires hanging over the road, Wojewodzic said.
“It was a mess,” he said.
The truck and one of the cars it struck were heavily damaged and the road was shut down for several hours during clean-up, Wojewodzic said.
